Salmon Arm or California?

One of my major excuses for not starting a photography business sooner than I did was because I felt like there were no good places to take photos in Salmon Arm. Let’s just say that I really needed a perspective change!⁣ Jessica Whitaker is an amazing photographer and educator who teaches all about taking a fresh look at our surroundings, and that you can take good photos in your own backyard. Here is a link to one of her videos, where she chats all about finding locations. This approach has been so helpful as I have ventured to create beautiful photographs in places that have become mundane to me. 

Small Town Love

My first youtube video was all about finding good photo locations in a small town. If you watch that video, you will notice that my model is the same as these images! We went back to a couple of the same spots with a new outlook. 

Inspiration

These images were inspired to have an urban and California vibe (especially the ones with the clear blue sky). I wanted them to feel edgy, yet fun. Pushing myself to make Salmon Arm look like California was a fun challenge.
