This December has been unlike any other.
I finished my last semester at my current school. Levi began his journey of post-secondary studies (he is taking three classes online). We also packed up our entire home + are waiting to leave on our next adventure. It has been crazy in a way that is different than the usual hustle and bustle of Christmas, but I am so thankful to be here today, anticipating all that is to come.
One thing we decided to do that is very different than our regular routine is participate in VLOGMAS.
We decided to challenge ourselves to create a video every single day leading up to Christmas.
Is this crazy? Maybe a little. But it has been so much fun.
I have a few for reasons for wanting to do vlogmas
- First of all, I am always documenting + “vlogging”. As my siblings and I grew up, my dad was always documenting things on a video camera. It was always so much fun to watch these home videos back and see how much we have changed and to relive special moments. As our video camera got phased out, I didn’t want that to be the end of my life in video, so I continued to capture short little snippets of memories. At the time that I was doing this, I don’t think it had recieved its official name yet, but today it would be known as vlogging.
- A solution to the question “What to do with all the footage?”. I will admit, I have a crazy amount of videos that I have stored up over the years. Occasionally I would throw them in to a video editing software and make a little film of them all, but I never developed a good rhythm. I want to challenge myself to get into better habits with how I store my videos and actually making something that is easy to watch back
- A great excuse to do all the festive things. Every year I make a list of things I want to do during December, but I end up not making time for them all. This year I want to push myself to do them because who doesn’t love watching festive content?
- It is simply fun. Levi and I have been having so much fun doing this and are wanting to make it a continual thing throughout the year (not videos everyday, but more regular video content)
If you have been tuning in to our daily vlogs, thank you so much! We love making videos for you to watch.
If this has made you curious about what we are doing over on youtube, check us out here.
Here is hoping your December is lovely
